Hello beautiful people, summers finally here in Europe, whimsical hot days at the beach, cocktails at sunset, late dinners, cool nights. Truly glad schools out....simply had enough of the endless homework. I personally took a little time-out blogging just 'cause I needed to unwind, after a years work of school and extra carricular activities...phew! you guys know what I mean. So how did I rejuvenate....I've been enjoying my pool, floating on our new blow-up Swan, and skimming through my years edition of Teen Vogue. I've now had enough of 'ME' time and am excited to share my new blog post with you and am inspired to get my freshly painted nails on my camera to snap away some new inspirational pics....hehe.
Today I want to blog about something random, yet present in our lives as girls. And that's: GLITTER. Yes, glitter. "And why is Tara blogging about glitter?", you may ask. Well that's because something so microscopic can make us girls feel so glamorous and all sparkly. Shine bright like a diamond, a symbol for girl power and is indispensable on a girls night out. Even little boys love glitter as much as little girls. I remember in kindergarten, how my teacher Mrs Rohou had to witnesss us emptying endless little colourful sparkling bottles of iridescent glitter onto our soggy painted paper, we were so proud of our masterpieces. Then somehow, just like that, boys somehow associate glitter and the colour pink stereotypically for GIRLS.
That's totally fine for us girls... MORE GLITTER FOR US!!
Glitter made Dorothy's ruby red shoes (aka from Wizard Of Oz) that more magical. Glitter made our coloured nails look even more spellbinding and shimmery. Glitter is literally just multi layered sheets combining aluminium, titanium, dioxide, iron oxide, and bismuth oxychloride. These sheets are then cut into tiny particles of many shapes...squares, rectangles and hexagons...when accumulated it becomes uniquely magical. Glitter is to FASHION... like chicken soup when you have the Flu. From the roll on body glitters, to sparkly dolphin tattoos in the 90's (missing the hair scrunchiez and stick on earrings ;) , it brings back so many glorious memories.
So there, thats it!!!.....wear your lilac glitter nailpolish, your glitter jelly shoes and shimmery eye shadow because to us girls glitter is gold. Who doesn't want a little sparkle in their life... or a lot (no shame here). Glitter is such an understated part of our lives that's why I decided to be brave and spontaneous and dedicate this blog to us girls born with glitter in our veins. xxx T
